About TTT ( Train the Trainer )

HRD Corp CERTIFIED AND ACCREDITED TRAINERS

Trainer refers to a Professional Trainer certified or accredited by HRD Corp. Under the HRD Trainers Development Framework, Trainers will be categorised as follows:

TTT Certified Trainers
  • Trainers who successfully completed the 5 days HRD Train-The-Trainer (TTT) certification course and certified by lead trainers are recognised as TTT Certified Trainers.
TTT Exempted Trainers
  • Trainers who successfully obtained an exemption for the TTT course based on certification, qualification or experience are recognised as TTT Exempted Trainers.
HRD Corp Accredited Trainers
  • TTT Certified or TTT Exempted Trainers who have gone through accreditation by assessment process – evaluated and certified by HRD Corp appointed panels as competent and recognised as HRD Corp Accredited
  • TTT Certified or TTT Exempted Trainers who have gone through accreditation by activity process, certified competent based on 120 hours of training hours completed are recognised as HRD Corp Accredited Trainers.

As a HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, your training is claimable to HRD Corp Registered employer. The quality of a training programme not only depends on the training facilities, it is also highly dependent on the quality of trainers conducting the training. The implementation of HRD-TDF will create a pool of competent and skilled Trainer professionals. This will support the human capital development needs of the nation through better quality and more effective training delivery. The HRD Corp Accredited Trainer status would only be applicable within HRD Corp training landscape that covers various schemes offered by HRD Corp.

TRAINER REGISTRATION

HRD Corp is currently developing a database of active trainers in the HRD Corp space. If you are TTT Certified or Exempted Trainer and actively conducting training for the HRD Corp registered employers, register your profiles with us on our portal at LATiH.

HRD Corp TTT CERTIFIED / EXEMPTED TRAINER

HRDF-TTT

In order to ensure the quality of trainers, PSMB has set the condition that all trainers for training programmes conducted under all HRD Corp Schemes must attend and successfully complete the PSMB TTT Programme and Assessment. Alternatively, trainers can also apply for exemption from attending the programme if they fulfil any of the criteria as stated in Training Provider Circular 4/2009. However, trainers are still required to go through the assessment process to obtain HRD Corp Accredited status. Kindly refer to the attached guideline for more information on this matter.

HRD Corp ACCREDITED TRAINER

All HRD-TTT Certified and Exempted Trainers are encouraged to go through the assessment process that carries the tittle HRD Corp Accredited Trainer. Only HRD Corp Accredited Trainers are qualified to train employees contributing to HRD Corp. All trainers certified after 1 January 2021 are required to go through an independent assessment within 1 year of certification. All trainers certified before 1 January 2021 are given 3 years grace period to obtain their accreditation through activity by submitting 120 hours of training through Trainers Development Management System. During the 3 years grace period, all trainers certified or exempted before 1 January 2021 may still conduct training as usual under various HRD Corp schemes.

HRD TRAINERS’ DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK

HRD Corp has introduced the HRD-TDF to ensure continuous improvement of HRD Corp certified and accredited Trainers. The implementation of HRD-TDF will create a pool of competent and skilled Trainer professionals. This will support the human capital development needs of the nation through better quality and more effective training delivery.

In order to ensure that HRD Corp Certified and Accredited Trainers are highly competent in their field, HRD Corp has implemented the Trainers Development Framework which would define the basic entry requirements, the certification process and professional development requirement for Trainers operating in the HRD Corp space. The implementation of HRD-TDF officially begins on 1 January 2021. Kindly refer to below button for more information on the HRD-TDF implementation and guideline.

TRAIN-THE-TRAINERS’ CERTIFICATION COURSE

HRD Corp has emerged with a revised framework in taking stringent steps to ensure quality training is delivery to potential trainers. The current revision of framework emphasizes the importance of setting the right milestones for the trainer before being considered competent. The initiative to reverse the certificate of CERTIFICATION to certificate of ACCOMPLISHMENT is a timely move to safeguard the value and credibility of the HRD TRAIN-THE-TRAINERS’ CERTIFICATION.

This intervention clearly sets the ground rules for potential trainers to be competent and to understand the industry practices before embarking on a career in training. The standardization formulated by HRD Corp’s expert panel, expects to see all potential trainers to be trained using a standardised module across all TTT vendors appointed. Trainers are given the opportunity to upgrade themselves through continuous improvement with the stipulation of recommended training hours in a year or undergoing an independent assessment for be accredited as HRD Corp ACCREDITED TRAINER.
